Spicy, Sweet, Sticky Nuts

You’ve got guests coming. You’re watching the game. It’s drinks night. You just want a delicious snacky snack that isn’t crisps or crackers.

These nuts are crazy addicting. They’re spicy in all the right ways, while being sweet and finger licking sticky.

You’ll be going back for more.

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups of pecan halves

1 cup of whole almonds

1 cup of macadamia nuts

¼ cup of Sukrin Gold

¼ cup of Sukrin Syrup Gold

2 tablespoons of water

1 tablespoon of butter

½ teaspoon of ground pepper

¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper (more if you like it really spicy)

½ teaspoon of cinnamon

1 teaspoon of salt

 

METHOD:

Pre-heat oven to 350° F, fan forced.

Place the Sukrin Gold Fiber Syrup, butter and water into a small saucepan and heat until melted and combined.

Place all of the nuts and spices, as well as the Sukrin Gold, except for the salt, into a large mixing bowl and toss to combine.

Pour the liquid mixture from the saucepan into the mixing bowl and stir through until all of the nuts are well coated.

Line a large baking sheet and pour the nuts on to it.

Spread them out into a single layer and bake for 25 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes to avoid burning.

Remove, stir and let cool.

The coating will firm up and become very sticky as it cools.

Break the mixture up into chunks and serve.

 

Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
